The Pedestal of Time

Deep in the snow-melting forest
I saw a large mass lying there, sleeping for decades
It's like breathing deeply and quietly, waiting for something
In the grey, misty mountains
He said he was part of living nature.
When I came across a huge Zelkova tree at a sawmill in the mountains of Izumo, I wanted to express something natural in its natural state.
We decided to make the bases for the jewelry out of large trees so that people who visit the store can feel that same atmosphere.
With the help of several people, the tree was cut into logs, the bark was removed with a chainsaw, and then it was cut again.
In order to ensure that it can be returned to nature in the end, a local carpenter took the time to shape it using traditional methods that do not use nails or screws.
These logs were originally dried for many years at a sawmill before being turned into products.
Once again installed in the mountains of Izumo, it will once again change with the seasons of the forest.
At the very last moment of decay, the piece is transported to Tokyo and displayed in its original, raw form in the store, completing the process.
We are preparing to set up cameras so that you can watch the animals return to their natural state in real time.
In spring, you can hear the light chirping of birds,
In summer, you can see layers of air expanding vividly in response to the fresh green leaves.
In autumn, animals eagerly awaiting the harvest come down quietly
In winter, you can see the snow illuminated by the low-angle sun.
We hope you will enjoy this pedestal, which represents raw nature and time, in your daily life.
